  When referencing a tow tractor for industrial use, these machines typically are used to transport small loads inside warehouses, but can also be designed for higher loads both operating indoors and out. Since these are relatively small machines, they have traditionally used SEM technology for the traction motor, but more and more OEMs are developing these machines with AC technology because of the inherent efficiency benefits.
